The printer suddenly wouldn't turn after I turned it off the previous day. The resume button LED and catridge alert LED are on but the power backlit LED is off

Hi @pk123452, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like your HP printer is experiencing a power issue. The Resume Button LED and Cartridge Alert LED being on while the Power LED remains off suggests a possible hardware fault, power supply issue, or a firmware crash. Try these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Power Check

>Ensure the printer is plugged directly into a working wall outlet (avoid power strips).

>Try a different power socket or test another device in the same socket.

>If your printer has a removable power cable, try a different one (if available).

Power Reset

>Unplug the printer completely from power.

>Wait 2–5 minutes to discharge residual power.

>Press and hold the Power button (if present) for 10-15 seconds.

>Plug it back in and try turning it on.

Check for a Power Adapter Issue

>If your printer uses an external power adapter, ensure the light on the adapter is on.

>If you have access to a similar adapter (with the same voltage and amperage), try swapping it.

Check for a Paper Jam or Cartridge Issue

>Open the printer and check for any stuck paper or foreign objects.

>Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges, then close the lid securely.

Hard Reset (if applicable)

>Some HP printers have a reset method:

>Unplug the power cord.

>Hold down the Resume and Cancel (or Wi-Fi) button.

>While holding, plug in the power and keep holding for 10-15 seconds.

>Release the buttons and check if the printer turns on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
