Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In my LaserJet MFP Pro M28a (usb only) printer there is no option to select 1200 ppi resolution anymore. I can select resolution only up to 600 ppi. Neither in windows  nor in linux.(dualboot).

In linux (simple-scan) i have the option to scan with 1200 dpi but the resulting scans have all ~600 ppi.
With printing I have no problems yet.-)
I've searched the forum for answers but I did not find a solution to solve the problem.
I uninstalled all applications hp*, reboot i downloaded and i reinstalled them,  but still  there is no option to scan with a resolution of 1200..

Can someone help me, please!

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't explained it clearly but I've already done that. Anyway, I'll try again maybe i did something wrong, maybe i missed something.

Which program is used for scanning?
Take a screenshot of the settings, upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.
But before you must remove or delete the personal data and printer serial number on the printout.

Try this Solution:

  1. Install HP Scan Extended find here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/
  2. Download this file: HPScanExt.msi
  3. Close all programs

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the msi.

OPTIONAL:

Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
    • Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
    • Right-Click on "HPScan.exe" > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

The link is not working for me, i get a new empty tab.......and nothing!

Tried this link to: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi found here

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-Copying/Using-your-HP-Scan-software-Scanning-Guide-for...

I searched for old scanned photos from 2-3 years ago, when I still had the option to scan with 1200 ppi and all those photos have a resolution of 600ppi! This can only mean that the resolution that appeared in the settings of 1200 was not real, it was not really used to scan. I did not check until recently the resolution of the first scans made, but I know for sure that I used the highest possible resolution then with this scanner. In conclusion, if i do not find the solution...., it is very possible for the manufacturer to declare other specifications than the real ones. And if so, the producer will have a lot, a lot of "advertising" from me.😠

There is no other logical explanation. It's not quite as complicated as it seems, I tried all the settings and tricks.

Anyone who can prove to me that I am wrong and that this scanner can scan with 1200 ppi is welcome.
