Hi @Carlengo2022,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 is encountering an issue with its ink system recognition. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this problem.

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct cartridges for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210. It should only use HP 952 or HP 952XL cartridges. Verify that the cartridges you are using match these specifications.

Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Carefully remove all cartridges from the printer.
  • Check for any protective tape or packaging material still attached to the cartridges and remove it if present.
  • Reinsert the cartridges, making sure they are properly seated in their respective slots.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
  • You can check for updates via the HP Support website or through the printer’s control panel if it has network capabilities.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer's display panel for any specific error messages or codes that might provide more information about the problem.

Inspect the Ink System:

  • Ensure there are no issues with the ink system, such as leaks or damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
