HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3101fdw Printer

Hello

My HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 3101fdw Print/Scan/Fax has an issue with the touch screen. Its not just blank, its not on at all. When I try to open the display by pressing on the bottom, it is not a smooth and fluid opening. It looks like the ribbon chord is not connected all of the way in. It looks like one side is pushed in further than the other.

I can print with this machine, but not scan. When I initially set this up, and realized I had issues, even after power cycling and reinstalling the Drivers I ran the diagnostic check to prove everything was connected and working properly. Using the Scan & Print Dr, both checks failed the Device Status check and could not finish without skipping through the Device Status tab. Actually, I only needed to skip that one tab on the Fix Printer Diagnostic. The Fix Scanner Diagnostic failed at the Device Status, Windows (WAI) Scan, and the HP (Twain) Scan. I had to skip all three of those. The Next two tabs passed. The HP Scan Tab and the Test Scan Tab.

I have done all of the resets and reinstallations of software. I including scouring the interwebs constantly today (8Hrs), looking for the service and maintenance manual for this printer. I have followed all of the recommendations HP Support says to do. I already know how to reset, delete, and reinstall the drivers and firmware using the CMD Promt, but I already did that. Im at the physical hardware repair/replace stage. At least for the Touch Screen Display. Is this manual available please? Its not online anymore. At least where I have access to.

Thank you!

Charles H

There is not a service manual as this device is considered a whole unit replacement device. You could use the manual for the 4101 is the design and assembly is pretty much identical. https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_9791181_en-US-1.pdf
