I have a HP officejet 4650 printer. The touch/display screen is blank, the printer works fine for printing from the computer. I have already tried unplugging it, restarting it still blank.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

The blank display usually indicates a problem with the hardware.
Let's try this method and see if the issue can be resolved:

Follow the steps below to reset the printer.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If that fails to resolve the blank display issue, I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options for your printer.

I have been doing this and it makes no difference. The print is only 18 months old and does not get excessive use.

I don't think I will be getting anyone to look at it as that will cost me more than I paid for it. I will have to unfortunatly replace it with anonther.
