Product: HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer

My Photosmart 7520 printer has started to malfunction in that upon start-up the touch screen flashes several times before becoming unresponsive.  Also, I noticed that both the power-on and WiFi indicator lights no longer come on.  Interestingly, if the lid is in the up-position with a pencil in the lid-down sensor switch, both the touch screen and indicator lights work properly.  I can also print without any problems when the printer is in this configuration.  Suspect there is a wiring harness issue with the lid/copy-tray, but only guessing.  Any insights/suggestions related to problem resolution would be appreciated.
