Hello, in my old printer's preferences the Photo Tray option is no longer an option 😕

I did manage to print an ID photo on glossy photo paper from the main tray Letter size but the print's quality was very low

I guess I should get a new printer

Shouldn't I ?

@StayZero, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to select the photo tray while printing. Are you using the HP Smart app to print?

You do not have to buy a new printer, this could be a driver issue. Let us try these steps:

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Click here to download the full-feature software via HP Easy Start.

Now, try printing.

Check the print settings before printing, you may refer to - HP print settings guide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
