@SC441, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're having trouble connecting your computer and phone to your HP4200e printer, even though they all appear to be on the same Wi-Fi network, here are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Restart Devices:

  • Begin by restarting your computer, phone, and printer. This often resolves temporary connectivity issues.

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure that all your devices, including the printer, are connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Sometimes there might be multiple networks available; make sure they are all using the same one.

Wireless Network Test Report:

  • On many HP printers, you can print a Wireless Network Test Report. This report can highlight potential issues with your network settings or connection.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer as outdated firmware might affect connectivity.

Firewall and Security Software:

  • Sometimes firewalls and security software can block network connections. Temporarily disable these to see if it resolves the issue. Be sure to re-enable them afterward.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Re-run the wireless setup process on your printer. This can usually be done via the printer’s control panel or using the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.

Disabling VPNs:

  • If you are using a VPN on your devices, try disabling it temporarily, as it might be interfering with the connection to the printer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
