Is anybody else having trouble downloading HP Smart from the Microsoft Store?  Note - I've already installed the recommended software from hp.com, and the installer says I need to install HP Smart.  I'm not able to print from my computer, so I'm hoping that HP Smart may help (I've already tried the HP doctor, which didn't fix my issue).

When I try to download/install it, it will download around 0.5 MB, but then error out with Code: 0x80073CFB.

I've tried clearing the Microsoft Store cache, removing all HP software, and other recommended steps I found on the web.

other applications download and install from the Microsoft Store without issue.

If I can't resolve this issue, I'll have to buy a non-HP printer.

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Hi,

I tested it by uninstalling HP Smart and could reinstall the app from the store with no issues, so this is not a general failure.

What happens when you try printing?

Right-click the Start button and select Run.

Type Control Printers and press OK.

Can you see your printer listed?

What is its current status? are there documents in the queue?

What exact behavior occur when you print a page? can you see it enters the queue? any specific error or behavior?

Hi Shlomi,

It's very odd, but today the HP Smart download completed successfully.  It has been in a failed state in the Microsoft Store for weeks.

However, even with HP Smart installed I'm not able to use the printer from applications such as MS Word.  Here's what happens:

- In MS Word, I select Print

- In the Print window, I choose HPE30541 (HP OfficeJet Pro 6970) for the printer.

- I click Print

- the Print window closes, then I get an error popup saying that it wasn't able to print to the HP printer.

- I open up the queue for the HP Printer, and it shows one document in the queue with the Status of "Error - Printing".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the HP drivers several times, and have tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  Each time, the drivers installation succeeds, but when I try to use the printer, I get the error message.

One thing to note - I tried installing the drivers with the printer connected via USB.  I'm able to use the printer when connected via USB, but not over the wireless network.
