I am having endless problems with my hp account. Asks me to input printer pin every time i try to change something and but just keeps cycling back to same page. Cant make any changes. To add a phone number it gives me the verification window, but that also just keeps popping up.  Never allows me to make the change. I tried setting up instant ink, but it gives me a pop up saying my account is US (Its not) and that I cant order from Canada. I am beyond annoyed.

Hi @jfries21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how  this must feel, you’re trying to make simple updates and the system keeps looping you back without letting you move forward.

Let’s work through this together so you can get your HP account working smoothly again.

To help me pinpoint the issue, could you please share:

The printer model you’re using

Whether you’re accessing your account through the HP Smart app or directly via the HP website

If you’ve recently changed your region or country settings in your account

Here are a few steps you can try right away:

Clear browser cache: If you’re using the HP website, cached data can cause repeated verification loops.

Update HP Smart app: Make sure you’re running the latest version, as older builds sometimes mis-handle PIN or region verification.

Check region settings: Since you mentioned the Instant Ink pop-up saying your account is US-based, verify that your country/region is correctly set to Canada in your HP account profile.

Reset printer PIN: If the PIN prompt keeps cycling, resetting the printer’s PIN through the HP Smart app or printer control panel may break the loop.

Try a different device: Sometimes switching from mobile to desktop (or vice versa) helps bypass persistent verification windows.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
