Trouble with installing software for LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw on a new HP desktop

I was able to install the printer software that came with the printer (LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw) on CD, but options like the scanning, faxing icons were not available on the desktop nor did I see them in the start menu. Basically the only thing I could do from the desktop was print.

I went to the HP site and found a supposedly more updated software package (LJ-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276-full-solution-15188.exe)  for the printe,r but when it reaches 99% installation I receive the following error:

"An installation operation took too long to execute. This is a fatal error preventing product use. Please restart your computer, and run this installer again."

It then says to uninstall and try again which is fruitless. I had no issues running this on the desktop I am replacing which was running Windows 7.

I found this and tried it. Still can not get the software to install properly.

I used the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it did an installation which it also yielded a limited installation similar to the software on the CD that came with the printer.

When I look inside the HP Folder the following is listed:

-HP Help & Learn Center

-HP Printer Status & Alerts

-HP Product Improvement Study

-HP Send Fax

-HP Update

The following is what is installed on my old computer:

-Fax Setup Wizard

-HP Device Toolbox

-HP Help & Learn Center

-HP Printer Status & Alerts

-HP Product Improvement Study

-HP Scan

-HP Send Fax

-Reconfigure Your Device

-Scan to Email Wizard

-Scan to Network Folder Wizard

-Uninstall Product Software

For what ever reason, software which contains the Scan function will not install.
