Hello,
I have been trying to install this printer my family member bought for me on my birthday, but the computer does not recognize the printer when the setup is in progress..
I have already tried restarting the computer, printer, and disconnected the wireless routers for the setup process troubleshooting.
This is a HP Officejet 3830 All-in-one Series printer.
I set up the printer before installing the drivers and the printing from mobile devices works, but the computer does not recognize it when searching for printers.
NOTE: I HAVE CALLED FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT 3 TIMES TONIGHT ALREADY AND WAS JUST DISCONNECTED AFTER WAITING OVER A HALF HOUR FOR SOMEONE TO COME ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE. SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED IN SERVICE FROM HP THUS FAR.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet 3830 Printer. I understand that you are unable to connect the printer to the computer and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well.
Restart the computer, printer and router.
Manually connect the printer to your network.
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer.
Uninstall the HP driver and software.
Reinstall the HP software.
Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.
