P1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a P1102w printer that I need to upgrade the firmware.  The printer is currently attached to my PC via USB and I can access and print to it.   The printer is on Port USB001.

I downloaded the current update package from the HP web site.  When I run the update software it displays a box with the message "To update all listed printers click "Update All."  Unfortunately, the only choice I am given is:

Printer                                                                          Port                                    Jobs

HP Laser Jet Professional P 1102w              IP_192.168.1.133_1         0

I did try to run the update anyway but it failed.

Any suggestion about how to software to recognize and the update my printer?

Thanks for any help here

Hi @PhilBjr

Perfect, I am really glad to hear that you were able to update the firmware.

Yes, the ePrint app is no longer available. However, you can use the Apple Airprint to print from your Apple devices.

Please refer to the below article for more information.

Thanks for the feedeback but unfortunately the article's suggestions do not work for me.

It gives the user 2 options: update directly from the printer or downlad updates from the HP website.  The first option will not work with HP p1102w printers because they have neither a text-based idsplay or the requied buttons.

In my case the second does not work either because the downloaded update program does not see the printer.  In fact NONE of the HP software can find my printer, even though I can configure it to work nnicely in either wireless or USB-connect modes.  I have been trying to get help on this problem from HP for two years, but no response yet.  If you search this forum, you will find that I am not alone.

Unfortunately, when I go to that page I discover that they are no longer supporting the p1102w, so this does not work either.

Meanwhile, I have tried resetting and then toally reinstalling the printer.  This time everything worked and I was able to install the firmware update that allows me to set up eprint access.  All went well and I followed the instructions to set up my iPhone for email printing.  Unfortunately, what the HP web site does not seem to know is that the hp eprint app has been removed from the apple library.

This is the section of the HP web site that I was relying on to get HP eprint set up on my Apple iPhone:  http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/mobility/apple-on-the-go-printing.html

This is unbelievably frustrating and really decptive on HP's part and has resulted in a monumental waste of my time.  Why did HP decide to no longer support the very popular p1102w and also kill the this app?
