Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Firstly i would like to say that the assistance provided is attrocious.
I am TRYING to make an officejet pro 9130e printer/scanner to scan via a windows 7 work pc.

My older printer 8500 broke, i bought this one and configured it via the HP smart app from my phone, i can do everything normally with my phone.

The pc since it uses windows 7 cant have the smart app (windows 10 and later).

The pc recognizes  the printer (through usb) and asks for the drivers, windows couldnt find the drivers on its own unfortunately.

I downloaded Full_Webpack-51.7.5630-SJ0001_Full_Webpack and run it, let it install itself. The printing drivers are fine and printer works normally but not the scanner.

HP scan doesnt recognize any scanner (installed with the same pack), so i run hp scan assistant that was installed with the pack.

I follow the instructions and select connection via usb, then nothing happens, in the instructions it was written that i should disconect the usb till the hp scan assistant asks for the usb to be connected, i did , nothing happened yet again.

I then tried with the HP print and scan doctor,  it locates a problem with the scanner and i ask it to search more, it sais that it can't locate any scanner drivers,  it prompts me to shut the printer off, restart it and then restart the pc, i did that, and it still couldnt find a solution, then it prompts me to search the web, which i click on and i get a message that i dont have internet.... which , i do have...

In order to make a printer work i must solve a fricking puzzle? Wth am i supposed to do

Scroll down and expand the product specifications

Minimum System Requirements
Windows 11, 10: 32-bit or 64-bit, 2 GB available hard disk space, Internet connection, Internet Explorer.

-- Longer Answer -- FYI Only --

The printer is never going to work in the ways you expect.

The Web pack you downloaded is a wrapper program that searches for available software.

Said another way:

There are no full driver packages listed for this printer series and Windows 7.

So if I decide to try and upgrade that old computer to windows 10, do I need to do a format and a clean installation?

If so that won’t work.

Or is there a way to just “upgrade” to 10 and keep files, programs etc as is.

HP Recommended

The upgrade method will partially depend on what license for Windows 10 you have purchased. As Windows 10 is end of life as well you may find yourself having to upgrade to Windows 11.
