I can't get my new printer connected to router. I need help.

I understand your new HP DeskJet 2827e will not connect to your router. Let’s go through the correct setup process step by step.

Before we begin:
Are you setting this up using a phone or a computer?

Meanwhile, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Put the Printer in Wi-Fi setup mode.

• Turn the printer ON.
• Press and hold the wireless button for 5 seconds.
• Release when the blue light starts blinking rapidly.
• Rapid blinking means the printer is ready to connect.
• If it is not blinking, repeat the step.

Step 2: Prepare Your Router (Important)

• Make sure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is enabled (this printer does not connect to 5 GHz-only networks).
• Disable Guest Network.
• Use WPA2 security (WPA3-only networks may fail).
• Place the printer within 10–15 feet of the router during setup.

Step 3: Connect Using the HP App (Recommended)

• On your phone or computer, connect to your home Wi-Fi.
• Turn on Bluetooth.
• Open the HP app.

Tap Add Printer or Set Up New Printer.

• When prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.
• Wait until the blue light turns solid.
• The password is case-sensitive.

Step 4: If Setup Fails

• Restart your router.
• Restart your phone or computer.
• Put the printer back into setup mode (blinking blue light).
• Try setup again.

If it still does not connect, tell me:

Is the blue light blinking or solid?

Do you receive a specific error message?

Does your router combine 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one network name?

With that information, I can narrow this down quickly.

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  Apologies for jumping in here.

Try to reset the Wireless to defaults and then use the HP App to setup and connect printer to the network.
