Photosmart D1110.  Serial No.  CN0BNG3336.  Using the wizard setup, the printer will find the router but will not accept the password.   This is a 5g router, but we have a split signal coming in so the printer can receive the 2.4g signal.  All of our other 2.4g devices work with this new router.  The HP website does not recognize this model or SN.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the details, that helps a lot.

I understand you’re trying to connect your HP Photosmart D1110 to a new router, the printer can see the network but will not accept the Wi-Fi password, even though other 2.4 GHz devices work fine. I know this is frustrating, especially after multiple attempts.

Important limitation with Photosmart D1110

The Photosmart D1110 is a very old Wi-Fi model, and its wireless hardware has strict compatibility limits:

Supports 2.4 GHz only

Supports WPA or WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption

Does NOT support:

WPA3

Mixed WPA2/WPA3 modes

Newer router security features (band steering, fast roaming, smart connect)

Please check these settings on your router specifically for the 2.4 GHz band:

Set Security to WPA2-PSK (AES only)

Disable WPA3 completely

Do not use “WPA2/WPA3 mixed”

Disable advanced features temporarily

Turn off:

Band steering / Smart Connect

Fast roaming (802.11r)

Airtime fairness

MAC randomization (if available)

Simplify the Wi-Fi name and password

SSID: letters/numbers only (no special characters)

Password: letters/numbers only, at least 8 characters

Power cycle everything

Turn off router

Unplug printer for 60 seconds

Power router back on → wait 2 minutes → power printer on

Run Wireless Setup Wizard again

I hope this helps.
