Hi  my printer does not turn off with the button. I bought it used from a company that used it as a fax machine day and night. Shutdown with the button has probably been disabled.

@Giuliia, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to power off the printer using the power button. Are you able to power it ON?

There is no option to disable this feature on the printer.

It seems like a hardware failure. Try holding the power button down for 3 seconds and check if that helps.

If the issue persists, you may unplug the power cable from the printer to power it off.

If this does not help and the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
