When I am trying to print two sided documents, the printer always prints with the document flipping on the short edge.  I have tried reinstalling the software.  I have gone over all the settings I can find and have made sure they all state to flip along the long edge of the document.

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change when selecting to flip on long edge, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

After following these steps, my printer does not work.  When I try to print, the printer prints one line of symbols and than moves onto the next page.  I stopped it after 6 pages.  Two sided print is no longer supported and I can only print in black and white.  Following these steps seem to have really messed up my printer.

Follow up.  I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it and I am back to two sided printing always flipping along the short edge.
