Bought a used hp office jer pro 8025e printer, followed set up instructions, downloaded the hp smart app but cannot finish set up, I keep getting error code
UA_400_EB000U0410. I have factory reset, network resetted printer, checked ip addresses matched when it was connected, uninstalled and reinstalled app but it doesn’t work. The previous owner had registered to hp instaink and idk if that’s what might be causing the issue. Really need some help.

@Vvill123, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code UA_400_EB000U0410 you're encountering during setup of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e typically indicates a problem registering the printer to your HP account, often due to:
- The printer still being linked to the previous owner's HP account or HP Instant Ink subscription
- Issues with HP Smart app setup, network connectivity, or Web Services
Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve this:
Remove Previous Owner’s HP Account Association
Since the printer was previously owned and likely enrolled in HP+ or Instant Ink, it must be removed from the previous owner’s HP account before you can register it.
- Ask the previous owner to:
- Log in to their HP Smart account.
- Go to My Printers.
- Select the printer and choose Remove Printer.
- Cancel any HP Instant Ink subscription linked to the printer.
If this step is skipped, you’ll continue to see registration errors like UA_400_EB000U0410.
Reset Web Services
This clears any cloud registration or claim code issues.
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Web Services > Remove Web Services.
- After removal, restart the printer.
- Re-enable Web Services:
- Go to Settings > Web Services > Enable.
- A new claim code will be generated.
Factory Reset the Printer (Again)
You mentioned doing this, but ensure it’s a full reset:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.
Reinstall HP Smart App
- Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app.
- Sign in with your own HP account.
- Add the printer using the new claim code.
