Hi @Mandar_0907,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap" error in Windows 11, especially when it's causing applications like Valorant to crash, can be quite frustrating. This error generally indicates a problem with your computer's memory or drivers. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially solve this issue:

Update Windows and Drivers:

  • Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date as Microsoft often releases updates to fix bugs and improve system stability.
  • Update your device drivers, especially the graphics card drivers which are crucial for gaming applications like Valorant. You can update these through the Device Manager or by downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Since this error can be related to faulty hardware, particularly RAM, consider running a memory test. You can use Windows Memory Diagnostic tool by typing Windows Memory Diagnostic into the Windows search bar, clicking on it, and following the prompts to start the test.
  • If the tool finds any issues, you might need to replace your RAM.

Perform System Checks:

  • Use the System File Checker to repair corrupted Windows files. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run the command sfc /scannow.
  • Additionally, you can check the disk for errors by running chkdsk /f /r in Command Prompt as administrator. You will need to restart your computer to let it scan.

Roll Back Recent Changes:

  • If you’ve recently installed new software or hardware before these errors began, consider uninstalling them to see if it resolves the issue.

Reset or Reinstall Windows:

  • If none of the above steps work, you might consider resetting Windows 11. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select Reset this PC. This allows you to keep your files but reinstalls Windows.
  • A fresh installation of Windows can also be an option if resetting does not work. Ensure to back up your data before doing this.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Sometimes, a BIOS/UEFI firmware update can resolve underlying hardware issues. Check your laptop manufacturer’s website for any available updates but proceed with caution and follow the instructions carefully as incorrect updates can harm your system.

Check for Overheating Issues:

  • Ensure your laptop is not overheating. Overheating can cause various issues including crashes. Make sure the cooling vents are not blocked and the fans are working properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
