The printer used to work on this computer but my friend took the printer over to his girlfriend's house when her printer didn't work. Now the printer is back home on original computer. However the Mac doesn't see the printer when I try to add it from MacOS.
Unfortunately when he got back home, he for some reason tried to reinstall the print drivers and messed things up. I am his tech support guy but I am supporting this remotely using TeamViewer. Since then he has also accidentally upgraded to MacOS Monterey.
I have Reset the Printing System and deleted the drivers he messed up and reinstalled Apple's version of the HP Printer Drivers from: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US. These drivers were just updated yesterday for MacOS 12.0.1 Monterey. The Mac still can't see the USB connected printer.
We have tested different USB ports but he didn't have another USB printer cable or another printer to test with. Using Wireless isn't an option in his case, so the HP Smart app didn't find the printer either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
Please try installing below drivers:
Once completing the installation open System Preferences < Printers & Scanners, remove any instance of your printer by using the minus sign, then click the plus sign to add the printer, be sure to check the HP Officejet 4630 option from the drop-down menu.
May you know see any difference while trying to print?
The included link above from Apple is not intended for Monterey, as clearly listed by its description:

Thanks for the quick reply. I am sure the drivers you provided would have fixed the problem.
Unfortunately the printer still couldn't be found in Printers & Scanners. I don't have access to the printer as my friend is on the other side of the United States from me. I suspect something wrong with the printer even though it used to work. He is going to take the printer his local Mac repair shop and see if it works there.
Thanks for the help.
