Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the "USB Not Recognized Error".

Don’t worry, I’m here to help! To better assist you -

1) Are you experiencing this problem with other USB devices too or it is just with the printer?

2) Have you tried an alternate cable?

Let's try these steps -

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

If the issue still persists, try re-installing the USB device -

1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
2) Disconnect the device.
3) Expand the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" option.
4) Right-click Unknown Device, and select Uninstall.
5) The Confirm Device Uninstall window opens.
Click the box next to Delete the driver software for this device (if it is shown).
6) Click OK.
7) Restart the computer.

Let me know how that goes.
