Hello

I have a 8133 printer, newly purchased.

when trying to finish the printer setup using HP Smart, I get the error UU_400_EB000A9900.

in addition *(maybe related?) I often get connectivity issues, especially in wireless setup, but also occasionally with USB wired setup.

please advise.

Hi @idan4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Setting up a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8133 All-in-One Printer should be a seamless experience, but sometimes errors can occur. The error code UU_400_EB000A9900 you're encountering, and the connectivity issues might be related. Follow these steps to resolve the issues:

Error UU_400_EB000A9900

  1. Check for HP Smart App Updates:
    • Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. Update if necessary.

  2. Reinstall the HP Smart App:
    • Uninstall the app, restart your device, and then reinstall it from the HP Smart.

  3. Check Printer Firmware:
    • Update your printer’s firmware to the latest version using the printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app.

  4. Restart the Setup Process:
    • Power cycle both your printer and router. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait for 60 seconds, then reconnect it and turn the printer back on.

Wireless Connectivity Issues

  1. Network Connection:
    • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device. Avoid using guest networks.
    • If possible, try connecting the printer to another Wi-Fi network to test.

  2. Wireless Signal Check:
    • Move your printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve the signal strength. Avoid physical obstructions or metal objects between the printer and router.

  3. Wireless Network Test:
    • Use your printer’s control panel to print a Wireless Network Test report to ensure it's connecting correctly to your network.

USB Wired Connectivity issues

  1. USB Cable:
    • Ensure the USB cable is connected securely at both ends. Try using a different USB cable or port on your computer if possible.

  2. USB Configuration:
    • Check your printer's USB settings by visiting the printer's settings menu. Ensure USB mode is enabled.

  3. Restart USB Setup:
    • Disconnect the USB cable, restart both your printer and computer, and then reconnect.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
