Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0004
HP Deskjet 2755e
I bought this printer at a Goodwill, but it seems that the original owner did not disconnect their cloud account. How can I disconnect it and connect my own account so I can actually use this printer? It came with the instant ink cartridges, and I am not able to use it because I can’t connect my account.

Hi @SaltyLane,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.
--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.
And then reinstall the printer's full-featured drivers from the full-feature from HP website: Click here
And select the correct printer model and OS you are using.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Only just read this today… This suggestion did not resolve the issue, as I don’t have a computer and thus it was never installed on a computer. I am using the HP app. I would be open to more relevant solutions if there are any.

Hi @SaltyLane,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are looking for information on how to cancel the instant ink service.
Kindly refer to the step "Cancel your account" from this link to cancel the previous owner account.
Once it is successfully cancelled, you can enroll in the instant service again under your account.

Hi,
I don’t understand what do you mean when you say cancel the previous owners account… I don’t have their login information. I can’t even connect my account to the HP Instant Ink service with the printer, so there wouldn’t be anything to cancel on my end.
I went through the steps of restoring factory default and resetting network, but I’m still having problems with connecting the instant ink account or even completing setup. I received a different error message this time (see attached).
Error Code: OW_4XX_OWSWS00001
I have tried everything suggested that I’m able to, and I’ve been trying to get it to work for over three hours. I’m almost to the point of just getting regular ink instead of dealing with the Instant Ink stuff.
Also for some reason, the password the printer provided for the Wi-Fi Direct no longer works when I try to connect, even though that’s what it prints out. I’ve even tried the default “12345678” without luck.

Hi @SaltyLane,
I am sorry to hear that the above steps did not help much but i do appreciate your efforts in performing the troubleshooting steps.
If the previous owner of your printer had subscribed for instant ink service and if it has not been cancelled yet. Then you wont be able to subscribe the same printer again in instant ink.
However, if you are looking to connect the priner on the wireless network.
Please follow the below steps to get the printer on the network.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
