HP ENVY Inspire 7955e
Microsoft Windows 11

While installing an HP Envy 7955e I keep getting the following error:

Unable to register the printer to your account

We might be experiencing a technical issue.

Select Get Support for assistance and to resolve this issue.

In the meantime, make sure your printer is powered on and your mobile device or computer and printer are connected to the Internet.

Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0410  Save this code if contacting HP Support.

I have tried doing a factory reset, I've reinstalled HP Smart, the HP printer drivers, I've tried installing via USB. No matter what I try I get the above error.

Hi @dan695,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code UA_400_EB000U0410 typically indicates a problem with HP's server communication when attempting to register your HP Envy 7955e printer to your HP account. Since you've already tried a factory reset, reinstalling HP Smart, and setting it up via USB, here are a few more steps to resolve the issue.

Check HP Server Status

  • Sometimes, HP’s registration servers experience downtime or temporary issues.
  • You can check HP’s support site or try again later.

Use a Different Network

  • If possible, try connecting to a different WiFi network (such as a mobile hotspot) to see if the issue is network-related.
  • If using a corporate or school network, firewall restrictions might block HP’s servers. Try a home network instead.

Manually Assign a DNS

Some network-related issues may be resolved by using Google’s or Cloudflare’s DNS.

  • Go to your router settings and change the DNS to:
    • Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
    • Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
  • Restart the router and printer.

Use a Different Device

  • Try registering the printer using another PC, Mac, or mobile device with HP Smart installed.

Try a Different HP Account

  • Sign out of HP Smart and create a new HP account at HP Smart to see if the registration works with a different account.

Reset the Printer Again & Use Basic Setup

  1. Factory reset the printer again:
    • Open the printer control panel → Go to SetupRestore DefaultsRestore Factory Defaults.
    • Restart the printer and let it go to the initial setup screen.
  2. Skip WiFi Setup initially and connect via USB.
  3. Set up the printer without signing into HP Smart and try signing in later.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
