Toshiba Satellite L75D
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Uninstalled most software for 4500, but "hp officejet 4500 g510g-m 14.0 Rel.6" remained.  No longer have printer.

Attempted the following with no success:

1. Uninstall via control panel>programs & features (nothing happens, even using compatibility settings)

2. Remove device in PC settings (device removed, then replaced)

3. Remove HP folder from C:\program files (x86)\HP (error message indicates folder in use)

4. Remove HP processes via task manager (error message says machine may become unstable)

How do I uninstall this?

Hi,

Try uninstalling it by following below Scrubber Utility:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL32442/mp-110099-1/OJ_AIO_4500_G510g-m_140_408_Scrubber....

Once the download extracts, click Uninstall_L4 and allow a few seconds. If the uninstall doesn't start press enter once and it should start uninstalling.

Confirm any prompt and reboot your PC once any uninstall completes and check.

If the item is still there using Microsoft Fixit Utility below and check if that may help to remove it:

@deaj05,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps to root uninstall the printer.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for your help!

I followed your directions & uninstalled 2 drivers: one for 4500 printer, the other listed as fax.  However, after restart, the file " hp officejet 4500 g510g-m 14.0 Rel.6" is still listed in Control Panel>Programs & Features.  I tried uninstalling it from there, but nothing happened (no pop-ups or windows as is usually the case).

I ran the printui.exe again & the drivers deleted from Print Server Properties window are no longer there.  No other 4500 drivers are listed.

I tried your first suggestion & it worked!  Many thanks!

Actually I had tried another "Scrubber Utility", but it worked on some of the 4500 programs (in Programs & Features), but left the referenced one.  I checked to be sure the 2 utilities were different.
