Hello
We've got an HP LaserJet M130nw which until recently has worked well and let us print from iPhones, older Macs running Monterey and current MacBooks running Sequoia. Also the scanning function has worked with Image Capture. I have never used the HP apps for this printer, even for printing.
For no reason at all a few days ago the printer decided not to print. I have now removed it to start over and need to reconnect it. But I just can't seem to it.
I have reset the printer to factory settings to get a clean slate. I have tried with the HP app in the App Store. With the printer connected to my Macbook M1 running Sequoia with a USB cable it shows up and the app asks me to input my wifi password. The app then says that the printer IS connected to the network, but the printer's blue wireless button nevertheless keeps blinking, indicating that it is NOT connected. If I pull the USB cable the printer disappears from System Preferences–Printers & Scanners so it's evidently not connected.
Having read this recent similar thread I tried the Easy Admin app. This found my printer model and my macOS version and let me download the HewletPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg. But that file refuses to run on Sequoia.
I have also tried connecting the printer without any HP app using the WPS function to my Apple Extreme Base Station 5th Gen which provides the 2,4GHz and 5GHz networks in our house. I tried using both "First time" (AirPort Utility's term) / "Push button" (the printer's term) and "PIN". Neither works and results in time-outs every time.
I have tried to connected the printer to wifi using my iPhone 16 Pro using the HP app, but that also does not work as it is not able to find the printer at all, regardless of which options I select (new printer or existing printer).
This is insanely frustrating and irritating. Just days ago the printer worked on all iPhones in the house and every Mac. Now it's a large paperweight.
Please help.

I'll answer this and close this thread. The only way I managed to eventually get our printer to work was by connecting it to the wifi network by using a non-Sequoia Mac. The HP app then saw the printer and the network and let me input the password. I could then print from other Macs, both running Sequoia and other versions of macOS as well as iOS, using AirPrint.

I'm replying though I haven't found a solution to this yet.
I have now also tried connecting the printer via USB directly to the AirPort Extreme Base Station hoping that that would allow me to use WPS. Nope, it simply does not work.
I then connected it via ethernet to an older Macbook running Monterey. That made System Preferences finally see the printer and I could add it as a wired printer.
Until this point I had been unable to connect to the printer at all and had as a result not been able to find its IP address. But, being now on an ethernet connection the IP address was visible in the printer's display.
But still no joy. On the old Macbook I was able, with the printer still connected over wire, to add it wirelessly using the IP address in System Preference-Printers & Scanners–IP tab. I picked AirPrint as protocol and typed in the IP address which immediately added the IP as name and activated the Use field. When I picked Auto select the computer loaded the correct driver and allowed me to add the printer wirelessly. This meant the printer appeared twice in Sys Prefs. Deleting the wired version didn't mess with the wireless version. I was then able to print.
Still this does not solve my problem in Sequoia which is the OS we mainly use in the house. But now that a Mac on the network has finally seen the printer wirelessly, I can also make Sequoia's Sys Prefs see the printer both via AirPrint and the IPP protocol. EDIT: The printer is AirPrint compatible.
But when I choose Auto select in the Use menu, that menu just blinks and reverts to Choose Driver... . If I type in the printer model number and select the corresponding driver – HP LaserJet MFP M129-M134 – I get an error that the Mac could not communicate with the printer. I'm asked if I nevertheless would like to add the printer but that does not activate a connection with the printer.
And — supremely weirdly — the Mac running Monterey, which could previously print wirelessly, no longer does that. The print system says that it cannot reach the printer.
There are some seriously strange things going on here and I'm at my wits end. Is this a Sequoia thing or an HP thing? Sure, the LaserJet MFP M130nw that we have isn't a current model. But as I stated in the first post it has worked on various macOS and iOS versions over the course of several years. So something's afoot.
Anyone??
Thanks again in advance

And just to add some further information, I tried the very good suggestion by @Montmac in this thread to share the printer from a non-Sequoia Mac, but it doesn't work for me unfortunately.
If I share the printer from a Mac running Monterey, I am able to add it in System Preferences on a Mac running Sequoia 15.6.1.
But the "HP" app (not HP Easy Start because that is no longer available) fails each time to add the printer, whether as an existing printer using the printer's IP address or as a new printer.
