I recently got a new Macbook and am trying to set up my existing printer. I have tried going through the HP Easy Start setup and I get to the page asking what I "primarily use HP Products and services." I select my answer, click Continue, and a random text box pops up. I can't type anything in it, and nothing happens when I click Continue. I can't get past this page.

Hi @Brric7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If you are experiencing difficulties completing the HP Easy Start setup on your new MacBook, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check System Requirements:

  • Ensure that your macOS version is compatible with HP Easy Start. Verify that you have macOS Big Sur, macOS Catalina, or any other compatible version installed.

Update Software:

  • Make sure your MacBook is updated to the latest macOS version. Go to System Preferences > Software Update to check for and install any available updates.

Restart MacBook:

  • Restart your MacBook to clear any temporary glitches that might be affecting the setup process.

Re-download and Install HP Easy Start:

  • Visit 123.hp.com and enter your printer model to download the latest version of HP Easy Start.
  • Open the HP Easy Start file from your Downloads folder and double-click the icon to begin the setup.

Check USB/Network Connection:

  • If you are using a USB connection, ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your MacBook.
  • For network connections, verify that your printer and MacBook are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Printer Setup:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions in HP Easy Start carefully. Make sure to select the correct printer when prompted.

Check Printer Display/Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer is powered on and there are no error messages displayed on its control panel.

Take care and have an amazing day!
