When I'm stepping through the setup process for my printer on my Mac using the HP Smart App, I am able to put in my password for my wifi connection and I get a success message saying it's connected and "let's continue our guided setup" when I press continue however nothing happens, all I get is the colourful wheel that never stops. I tried remove the app and reinstall it, and restart my computer and printer but no luck. Does anyone have an idea what to try? thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
Restart the MAC(save your work) and the printer.
Update the mac software
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document to know how to setup the printer on your MAC.
