HP Envy 5530
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since getting a new laptop, HP Elitebook, with Windows 10, I'm unable to wirelessly connect to my HP Envy 5530 printer.  I have another machine, Lenovo, with WIndows 10 that connects to it fine.  One message from Devices and Printers troubleshooting indicates the printer cannot be contacted over the network.  I've followed another post's instructions to verify the IPv4 IP address and port setting, and they are correct.  This is very frustrating.  Is there any resolution to this other than connecting a cable to use the printer (which I haven't done because I don't have any open USB ports - both are in use.

Welcome to the HP Community

Make sure the printer is connected to the same network.

If the printer is connected to the home network, follow the below steps.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-5530-e-all-in-one-printer-series/... to download and install the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Try to print.

Thank you for responding.  I'm not able to complete step 10.  I get the following error after clicking OK on the Remove Driver And Package window:

Unable to remove HP Envy 5530 Series Class Driver, x64, Type 4 - User Mode driver

The specified printer driver is currently in use.

I've removed the printer driver from Printers & scanners, and verified it is no longer showing in Apps & features.  I do not have any applications running, and I've restarted the computer.   I can't figure out why it thinks it's in use.  Can you assist with this error?
