Hi @thetatango,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Tango printer isn’t connecting through the HP Smart app, doesn’t show up in Bluetooth, and you can’t reach it at 192.168.223.1. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm Setup Mode

On the Tango, press and hold the Wireless button until the blue light starts blinking.

This puts the printer back into setup mode so the HP Smart app can discover it.

Check Wi‑Fi Band

The Tango only supports 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi.

If your router is set to 5GHz only, or combines both bands, enable a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID and connect the printer to that.

Reconnect via HP Smart App

Open HP Smart on your phone or computer.

Remove any old printer entries, then select Set Up a New Printer.

Follow the prompts until you see “Setup Complete.”

Ignore Bluetooth for Printing

Bluetooth is only used for initial setup, not for printing.

If the printer doesn’t appear in Bluetooth, that’s normal once Wi‑Fi setup is complete.

Check IP Address

The 192.168.223.1 address is only used in Wi‑Fi Direct mode.

If you’re trying to reach the printer on your home network, check your router’s device list for the actual IP assigned to the Tango.

Enter that IP in a browser to access the Embedded Web Server.

Update Firmware

Once connected, use HP Smart to check for firmware updates.

Updates often fix connectivity issues and improve stability.

I hope this helps.
