I just got a new computer and can't install my HP Laser Jet printer that I   used on my old computer. I can't download the software and HP won't access my  Serial number.  Im 74 and this is very frustrating for me. Can someone help me with this? The printer worked just fine in windows 10.

Hi @FrustratedMom51,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your HP LaserJet printer to a new Windows 11 computer, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Verify Printer Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your HP LaserJet printer is compatible with Windows 11. You can check the compatibility on the HP Support website by searching for your printer model.

Download the Latest Driver:

  • Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer for Windows 11. Enter your printer model in the search bar to find the appropriate driver.

Install the Printer Driver Manually:

  • Go to the location where the downloaded driver is saved.
  • Extract the files (if necessary) and run the setup file. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.

Connect the Printer to Your Computer:

  • Ensure your printer is powered on and properly connected to your computer via a USB cable or connected to the same network if it's a wireless printer.

Check Network Connections (for Network Printers):

  • Ensure that both your computer and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Check router settings or disable any firewall temporarily that may be blocking communication between your computer and the printer.

Take care and have an amazing day!
