@Computerwish, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer won’t connect to your computer, let’s get this sorted out together! 😊
Check the Basics
- Ensure your printer is powered on and has paper and ink/toner.
- Make sure your computer and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network (if using wireless).
- Restart both your printer and computer.
Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
HP Smart makes setup easy and handles most connection issues automatically.
- Download and install the HP Smart app: HP Smart
- Open the app and click “Set up a new printer.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.
If your printer is not detected, try placing it closer to your Wi-Fi router and restart the setup.
Manually Add Printer (if needed)
If the above steps don’t work:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer.
- Choose “The printer that I want isn’t listed”.
- Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname”.
- Enter your printer’s IP address (you can find this on the printer’s control panel under Network Settings).
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
