@Pappoo, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are facing issues with connecting your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 CDW to your computer over a network, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Printer Connection Troubleshooting

Verify Network Connection:

  • Check the connection status on the printer control panel to ensure it is connected to a local network.
  • Make sure that both your printer and computer are connected to the same network. You can verify the network name on your printer control panel.
  • Print a network configuration report to view the printer's IP address. Enter this IP address into a web browser and load the printer's webpage to confirm the connection.

Check Power and USB Connections:

  • Ensure the printer power cable is plugged directly into a wall outlet.
  • If connected via USB, confirm that the cable is directly connected to your computer (not a hub or docking station) and is not longer than 9 feet 10 inches.
  • For ethernet connections, make sure the cable is directly connected to your router.

Update Software and Firmware:

  • Ensure your computer or mobile device has the latest software updates.
  • Make sure the printer has the latest firmware update.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Restart both your computer and printer to clear any error states.
    • Turn off your PC and close all apps.
    • Turn off the printer and unplug its power cord for 30 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back to the printer and press the power button to turn it on.
    • Restart your computer and try printing again.

Reset Printer Network Settings:

  • For the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 series, go to Menu > Utilities > Settings > Network.
  • Scroll to Restore Network Settings and tap Restore, then confirm by tapping Yes.
  • To reconnect to a wireless network, tap Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, select your desired network, enter the password, and confirm the settings.

Printer Queue Settings:

  • In Windows, search for and select Printers & Scanners.
  • Open the queue for your printer and uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if it is not already disabled.
  • Click "Set As Default Printer."

Restart Print Spooler:

  • In Windows, search for and select Services.
  • Locate Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart. Ensure the startup type is set to Automatic.

Add Printer Using TCP/IP Port:

  • Obtain the printer IP address from a network configuration report.
  • In Windows, go to Printers & Scanners, remove any existing listings of your printer.
  • Select "Add a printer using an IP address or hostname," type in the IP address, and complete the setup

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
