Envy Photo 6255
Microsoft Windows Vista

Every attempt so far results in a message like, "The Vista OS of this computer is not supported". The printer is about one week old.

Fortunately, my older Envy 4500 is still working.

Thanks for any help -

Looks like you have the 64 bit version of Vista.  Oh well, sorry.  Looks like it's time to upgrade your OS.

Sabretooth04,  Your suggestion regarding built-in drivers/add printer came up with 'A full feature driver is not available for

your printer, either from HP website or CD'.

The same result occurred when I found a way to download a driver for this Envy 6255 printer; at the last step a notice ended with 'This printer can not use this driver (so to speak)'.

Thank you very much for your efforts in my behalf.  I am hoping you might have another avenue to explore . . .?

Btw, my printer is set up for wireless operation, and its' blue light is always on steady.  Respectfully,  BobT39

sabretooth04,

Yes, I just checked my computer, and it is 64 bit.  Also checked out an upgrade and OS 7 is offered.

I marked your reply as an Accepted Solution and clicked a Kudos Thumbs Up.  Thanks again for your expertise.

I was able to download and install the Vista/32 drivers for the Envy 6255 without any errors.

It just doesn't work.

Jobs go through spooler, but printer doesn't print anything.

Printer box, and online specifications clearly state that it supports Windows Vista

If you find a solution (other than upgrade OS), please post back.
