HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

I need to change the country in printer settings, I am asked to enter a PIN number which does not exist.

I have looked all over the exterior and interior, including the tank access area, there is a QR code but nothing else.

Hi @Blutec55,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how confusing and frustrating it can be when you're trying to change the country/region on your HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One, and you're asked for a PIN that simply doesn’t exist anywhere on the printer. Let’s walk through the correct steps to fix the issue.

When changing the region, HP printers often ask for a printer PIN to verify ownership. This PIN is usually printed on a label inside the cartridge access area or on the back of the printer, but in some cases, especially with Smart Tank models, it may not be visible or present.

What You Can Do

Option 1: Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Even with a basic LCD panel, you can access advanced settings via your browser:

  1. Find your printer’s IP address:
    • On the printer panel, press the Information button (i) or go to Settings > Network Summary.
    • Note the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.5).
  2. Open a browser on your Windows 11 PC and enter the IP address.
  3. Login to the EWS:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: If no PIN is found, try leaving it blank or use admin.
  4. Navigate to:
    Settings > Preferences > Country/Region

Option 2: Factory Reset the Printer

This may allow you to reselect the country during setup:

  1. On the printer panel:
    • Press and hold the Cancel + Wireless buttons together for 5–10 seconds.
    • The printer will restart and enter setup mode.
  2. Use the HP Smart app on your PC to complete setup and select the correct region.
