HP Color LaserJet Flow E67660

Hello,

I have a networked HP Color LaserJet Flow E67660 printer. I am wanting to have a user print with HP Smart to allow for PIN release printing, to give a bit of extra security without needing to implement a full SecurePrint setup w/ Active Directory accounts.

The LaserJet is properly networked, and able to be seen by users, but the HP Smart app is unable to detect the printer even when I give the IP address. I was curious what diagnostic steps I should take.

I already looked at this KB article:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1738997-1676497-16#:~:text=Restart%20the%20printer%20and%2....

But this is basic, and I am having more difficult issues. I am wondering if there are steps I should take, or settings on the printer I should adjust with the admin control, to make it easily visible in HP Smart.

Hello @cameronwolf,

To make it visible, you must activate your printer.

To do this, turn on your printer, restart the computer with the printer on.

Once the restart is complete, go to the control panel, click on Devices and Printers,

Right click on your printer, click on the set default line.

She should be recognized now.

On an Enterprise machine like you are using the recommended driver would be the HP UPD driver or HP Smart UPD driver, both of which has pin printing built into them and also offer the option on encrypted print jobs for even more security.
