I am unable to install the print driver for this printer. I can see it on the network, I can scan from it, I can print to it from my phone, all other family members can print to it from their computers or phones, it appears that there is a problem with my PC only. When I go into HP Smart it tells me that the printer is asleep. I can ping the printer (it is connected to my wireless network) I can see all the printer information through the HP smart app. When I run the printui.exe /s there is NO HP driver listed. I have run the print and scan doctor and it is unable to resolve my problem. As I said, all other family members can use the printer, so I don't see the need for a factory reset, but I have tried that anyway. I have tried the troubleshooter in the HP smart app. Nothing I do will make the driver install. At this point it would seem that the only option available to me is to completely wipe and reinstall Windows, which is overkill, as well as being incredibly inconvenient. There is nothing in the Windows event logs that sheds any light on the problem. I really don't want to throw the printer out and buy a new one but that is looking like the only viable solution.
Is there any way that I can at least find some more information on what is blocking the driver installation? I had to print a document from my phone today and when I did I got a message telling me that either the printer had a new certificate or there was a device on my network impersonating my printer. There wasn't another device impersonating my printer, but I wonder if this may have something to do with the problem I am having.
Anyway, if anyone can help I would be most grateful.
