Good Evening,
My mom loves her Photosmart 8150 printer but she was just given a new Windows 10 desktop and her printer won't install. It shows up as an unspecified device. She has the original drivers but they don't work with Windows 10. We also tried to install with the drivers listed on Windows 10 but that didn't work either. This printer did work on her old computer running Windows 10 but an earlier version. We have tried so many troubleshooting suggestions but nothing has worked so far. We know it works and it would be silly to recycle a great printer. HP no longer offers drivers online for this product either. Is there anything we can do to get this good old printer to work for my mom?
Thanks so much!
Kelli

HP Photosmart 8150 Photo Printer does not have drivers for Windows 10.
Windows contains built-in print drivers for many types of printers. These drivers support basic printer functionality for most print jobs.
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
Remove the USB if connected
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879 for Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver.
Try to print.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION:
In Device Manager, open up Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Find the 8100 Series device
Click on Update Driver
Browse my computer for driver software
Let me pick from a list
Choose USB Composite Device
