I have a new laserjet m110w.  I can print from word, browser just fine from my windows 11 laptop but trying to print from adobe acrobatic pro it fails.  No error, just doesn’t print.  Removed/reinstalled the printer and the same.  If I open up smart I can print a saved pdf.  Adobe is at the most current version.  Thoughts?  Also, I tried to log a case with hp support and the form wouldn’t submit - tried from 2 different laptops and my phone.  No error but wouldn’t submit.

Hi @schlabsg,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed information — it helps narrow this down. You're dealing with a common but frustrating issue: Adobe Acrobat Pro not printing to your HP LaserJet M110w, even though other apps (Word, browser, HP Smart) print fine. Here's a clear step-by-step plan to fix it:

Fixes to try

1. Change the print rendering mode in Adobe Acrobat

  • Open Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Go to: Edit > Preferences > Advanced.
  • Under Printing, check:
    “Print as image”
Then click OK and try printing again.

2. Use a different print processor (Windows setting)

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click the LaserJet M110w > Printer Properties (not just "Properties").
  • Go to the Advanced tab > click Print Processor.
  • If set to something like Win Print, try switching to hpzppwn7 or RAW if available.
  • Click OK, then try printing from Acrobat again.

3. Try printing to PDF (loopback test)

  • In Acrobat Pro, try printing the document to “Microsoft Print to PDF”.
  • If that works, the problem lies in the connection between Acrobat and the HP driver.
  • If it doesn’t, the PDF file itself may be damaged or too complex — try printing another simpler PDF.

4. Install the printer using a basic driver (no HP Smart features)

Sometimes, HP Smart drivers interfere with older software:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click the printer > Remove device.
  • Then go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
  • Choose “The printer I want isn't listed” > Add a local printer.
  • Use port: USB001 or WSD (whichever applies).
  • Choose driver: HP LaserJet Series PCL6 (or HP LaserJet 1100 if listed — not HP Smart).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Vikram.

I tried the things you said and it didn’t work. However, once I tried to use Microsoft Print to PDF (which created the pdf file ok) it wouldn’t change from that in Adobe.  So I closed adobe and reopened it…and it started printing ok (it’s set up  wirelessly).  So, not sure what worked but it is working.  Thanks a bunch for your help.  Greg

Hi @schlabsg,

Thanks for the update — I'm really glad to hear it's working now! Sometimes Adobe can hold onto a virtual printer like "Microsoft Print to PDF" as default, and a simple restart of the app helps it reset back to the actual printer. Sounds like you did exactly the right thing by closing and reopening it.

Great job sticking with it, and if it acts up again, feel free to reach out.
