OfficeJet 5255

I'm having issues printing to my HP OfficeJet 5255 printer. everything was working finr then it suddenly stopped working. I can scan from it with no problems, I can reach it from a browser via it's IP address. From the web interface, I can view and update all the settings and even print a test page. I just can't print to it from any app in the Mac. I have reset the printer to factory and reset the printing system in the Mac. When I try to add the printer, I get the following:

"Unable to communicate with the printer at this time.
Unable to connect to ‘HP OfficeJet 5200 series [823ECC]._ipps._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?"

If I answer yes, it adds everything again, the scanner works but I still can't print. Before it would say that it couldn't communicate with the printer, now it says the printer is in use.

All the troubleshooting hints say to use the HP Smart App. The problem with that is, the app won't run, and never has. I had been using the HP Utility and the HP Easy Scanner apps, but decided to start from scratch and run the HP Uninstaller ap. Well, that just made things worse because now not only does the Smart App not work, I can't use the other apps because they are gone forever. I tried updating the firmware from the HP site, but it says it's not for my printer. I can print from all of my IOS devices. I can print test pages from the HP utility, just not from any other APP on the mac.

I have been an HP user since I bought my very first printer in the 90's, if this can't be fixed I may have to jump ship and buy another brand.

Hi,

Try restarting your router t restore a proper connection, this indicates a connection problem.

Once the router restarts and the internet connection returns, restart the printer too and try adding it again, check if you may see any difference then.

Please let me know how it goes,

Shlomi

I forgot to mention, I already restarted my router, multiple times. I have also readded the printer multiple time and restarted it and the Mac multiple times. If it was a connection problem, how could I print test pages from the settings in the Mac? And how could I connect to the printer via it's IP address?
