I am unable to print a word document in color from my Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop. I have followed all instructions to remove the printer and drivers and reinstall them, however with no success. I am able to print in color using the HP Smart app on my mobile, but not on my laptop. It doesn't give me the option to change my preference to color from Black/grey scale.
Can anyone support me with this please?

Morning,
Firstly, thank you for getting back to me.
I’m afraid the solution provided does not resolve my issue.
The problem is when I use Microsoft Word on my Dell Inspiron laptop, it does not give me the option to print in colour or allow me to change my preferences to colour. It only prints in black/grey scale only.
Can you advise what I can do to rectify this please?
Thanks

In some cases the install fails to detect that the printer is color. On your computer go to control panel >devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Click on the device settings tab and scroll down until you see the option "device type" and change it to color.

Morning,
I have followed the steps you mentioned, however it doesn’t give the option of ‘device type’ from the drop down, so I can not change it to colour.
The drop-down from Device Settings only provides ‘Installable Options’ which the option underneath is then greyed out.
If the file is a PDF file, it gives the option of colour, just not on Microsoft Word?

Please see screen shots to back up my current issue…
when attempting to print on Microsoft Word, there is no option to change the preference from black/grey scale to colour…
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
