Unable to print on both sides

I have a M255dw. Until recently, I could print on both sides from my PC. Now I cannot, despite selecting "Print on Both Sides" before clicking Print. What happens instead is if I'm printing a two-page document, it prints the second page on one piece of paper, then a message on the printer says "Manual Duplex. Load Tray 2." If I press ok on the printer, it will print the first page on a separate sheet.

I wonder if the issue is this setting, which appears to default to manual two-sided printing. I don't see a way to default to automatic two-sided printing.

I am able to print double-sided with this printer using an iPhone, so it must be some issue with my desktop settings. Any help would be appreciated.

A) Printer settings Duplexer:
Search Windows for 'devices', and then click the Devices and Printers control panel setting in the results.

Right-click the icon for your printer model, and then
click Device Settings tab
Installable Options > Duplexer: installed

If not, change to installed.

B) Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory:

Enter the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

If the Options > Duplexer or Duplex Accessory is not displayed, then download only HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw/M255nw Printer Full Software Solution 

1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
2. Restart the PC
3. Close all programs
4. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the File name: Full_Webpack-44.11.2784-LJM255-M256_UWWL_Full_Webpack.exe (150.7 MB)
5. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
6. Restart the PC again
7. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
