HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer

I was trying to get the printer to be detected by the HP Smart app on my smartphone and I inadvertently disabled Web Services. The problem is that now I can't seem to re-enable them in any way, and it seems that the printer doesn't even want to reset the settings to factory defaults.

What's worse is that I have an InstantInk plan active and I can't replace the printer because it doesn't recognize the printer code that is apparently generated (even if only momentarily) when I try to enable Web Services.

Hi @IzNoGud78

Welcome to the HP Support Community. It is a great way to post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

We appreciate you for doing business with HP.

I see that you are facing issues with enabling web services on your HP printer.

Please follow the steps listed below to enable Web Services:

1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Web Services.

3. Touch Yes to accept the Web Services terms of setup.

4. The printer will automatically check updates and set up Web Services.

You may refer to this document.

Let me know how this goes.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I've tried the procedure several times, but there's something that goes wrong and doesn't allow me to complete the procedure correctly.

To enable Web Services on my printer:

- I touch the ePrint button on the printer panel,

- I touch Yes to accept the Web Services terms of setup,

- The printer check for updates, seems to stuck for a while on the screen of the instruction page download, which should be printed at the end of the procedure but doesn't happen, and seems to set up Web Services.

- Unable to print the instruction page, I use the first part of the generated email address (viewable in the ePrint section), which is necessary to associate the InstantInk service, but this is never recognized.

- Sometimes, when I touch the ePrint button on the printer panel, I get the error: Unable to connect the printer to the server. Check the internet connection or proxy setting.

- The email address assigned to the printer after enabling Web Services is replaced randomly.

I've tried disabling Web Services and repeating the procedure countless times, but I always encounter the same problem.

I've also attempted to reset the printer to factory settings, but this doesn't seem to happen. In fact, the printer retains all its settings even after the reset.
