Hi @ThatasainOI,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6455e is showing an “unable to register printer to my account” error in HP Smart after a factory reset. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Internet Connection

Make sure your phone or computer and the printer are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

Weak or intermittent Wi-Fi can prevent registration.

Sign Out and Back In to HP Smart

Open HP Smart → Sign out of your HP account → Close the app.

Reopen HP Smart and sign in again before attempting registration.

Update HP Smart App

Make sure the HP Smart app is the latest version on your device.

Outdated apps can cause registration errors.

Remove Old Printer Data

In HP Smart, remove any previous entries of the printer.

Factory reset the printer again if needed to ensure it’s “clean.”

Check for Multiple Accounts

Sometimes printers previously registered to another HP account may block new registration.

Try logging in with the original HP account used for the printer if possible.

Use the Printer’s Control Panel to Connect

On the printer, go to Wireless Setup → Wi-Fi Direct → Connect.

Then try adding the printer in HP Smart after it appears on your network.

Temporary Network or Server Issues

Sometimes HP registration servers may be down or slow.

Wait 10–15 minutes and try the registration process again.

Check Firewall or Security Settings

Ensure your network or device firewall isn’t blocking HP Smart or printer communication.

Disable VPNs temporarily if active.

I hope this helps.
