Hello, I find that I am unable to complete the printer setup process on my HP Smart. the app screen stays at "Activating HP+ on your printer..." for a long time. So I can't activate my free six months of instant ink either.
I then tried restoring the printer to its factory default settings and after restarting the computer, printer and other devices, the hp smart interface also stayed at "Unable to register the printer to your account".
Then, I tried to set up the printer on my phone, and it showed me the following error page.
I received a message alert on my email saying that someone had replied to me, but I opened my account and didn't see it, so I thought I would post a new one. Thank you for your time.

Hi @Hilary_Xin,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to set up the printer on the HP Smart app.
Try the below suggestions-
1)Uninstall HP Smart
2)Install all the available Windows updates
If it is been a while since you updated your Windows, that is the main reason why Windows says your HP printer driver is unavailable. Here are the steps how to do a Windows Update to install all accessible operating system update.
If you are accessing Windows 10, then these steps are for you.
- Hit the Start menu and write an update. After that, click on the “Check for updates” option.
- Tap on the “Check for updates” option.
- After clicking on that option, Windows will install the updates automatically.
- When Windows completes all its updates, start your computer again and attempt to print a file to check if your printer works.
3) try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
4)Reinstall HP Smart from the Microsoft store.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
