Just purchased a HP Deskjet 2720e and am trying to complete the setup, but I keep getting the unable to register the printer error. This has been reported elsewhere and the solution that has worked for some is to log in to the Embedded Web Server on the printer, update the firmware, do a factory reset and that *should* work. I have tried all of these and still am unable to register the printer.
The printer is connected to the internet, it does have an IP address, it has the latest firmware, I have restarted and factory reset it.
The reason I purchased the HP was to take advantage of the HP Instant Ink service but I am unable to register for this due to not being able to complete setup.
I am using iOS app to set the printer up as per instructions.
Any other advice before I pack the printer up and return it?

This is now resolved, but no idea how or why.
Having unsuccessfully followed all the advice and ideas on various forums and this community, I decided to try again yesterday.
Clicked on the "complete registration" and it actually successfully connected to the HP+ service.
So, advice if you experience a similar issue:
- log in to the embedded web interface directly using the IP address of your printer. Password is located in the printer ink tray cover.
- update the firmware
- do a factory reset
- re-set up your printer from scratch
If that doesn't work, then crack a bottle of vino or a beer and chillout. Try again the next day et voila...
Thanks
