Hi @Wineman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re unable to remove an old printer from HP Support Assistant, and it does not appear in HP Smart. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this.

Close HP Support Assistant

Make sure HP Support Assistant (HPSA) is completely closed.

Right-click the HPSA icon in the system tray → Exit.

Clear HPSA Printer Data

Press Win + R, type %appdata%\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework and press Enter.

Look for files or folders related to your old printer and delete them.

Restart HPSA and check if the old printer is gone.

Remove Printer from Windows Devices

Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.

If the old printer appears, select it → Remove device.

Even if it doesn’t appear in HP Smart, removing it from Windows helps HPSA sync.

Check Windows Print Server Properties

Press Win + R, type control printers, and press Enter.

In the window, right-click an empty area → Server Properties → Drivers tab.

If the old printer driver appears, select it → Remove → Remove driver and driver package.

Repair HP Support Assistant

Open Settings → Apps → HP Support Assistant → Modify / Repair.

Follow the prompts to repair HPSA.

After repair, restart and check if the old printer is removed.

Restart Your PC

Sometimes a restart is needed for HPSA to update its list of printers.

I hope this helps.
