I am unable to remove an old printer from my HP Smart account. It does not have the "Remove Printer" option, only "Manage Printer Settings" as below. Please advise as to how to remove this printer from my account.

Hi @ST121,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to remove an old printer from your HP Smart account because there's no "Remove Printer" option, you might want to try a few troubleshooting steps.

  • Check Printer Settings: Sometimes, printers have a setting within their own interface to reset or remove them from any connected accounts. Look through the printer's menu or settings on its control panel to see if there's an option to disconnect or remove it from your HP Smart account.
  • HP Smart App: If you're using the HP Smart app to manage your printers, try logging out of the app and then logging back in. This might refresh the list of connected printers and allow you to remove the old one.
  • HP Smart Website: If you're managing your printers through the HP Smart website, try accessing your account from a different device or web browser. Sometimes, issues can arise due to compatibility or browser settings.

By trying these steps, you should hopefully be able to remove the old printer from your HP Smart account.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi

I tried all the steps in your answer. There is no way of removing this printer from my account using the printer menu, and I have logged onto HP Smart website on multiple devices and cannot see where I can 'Remove Printer'. The only option is 'Manage Printer Settings' as below

Hi @ST121,

Thank you for your response,

If the printer isn't allowing you to remove it through the menu options or the HP Smart website isn't providing the necessary option, there are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Reset the printer: Sometimes, performing a factory reset on the printer can help clear out any lingering connections or settings.
  • Uninstall HP Smart app: If you've connected the printer through the HP Smart app on your devices, try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Sometimes, reinstalling can refresh the app's settings and allow you to remove the printer.
  • Check for firmware updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address connectivity or management issues.
  • Alternative methods: If the HP Smart website doesn't provide an option to remove the printer, try accessing your HP account settings from a different device or browser. Occasionally, certain settings may not be visible due to compatibility issues with specific browsers or devices.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have now tried all of your suggested solutions and the option to 'Remove Printer' is still not showing. What do you suggest next?
