HP LaserJet MFP M140w Printer

Hi,

I'm new to this site. I'm having GREAT difficulty setting up my printer on wifi. I've tried by computer and phone. Help needed please.

This printer only supports 2.4Ghz wireless, most current home routers are dual radio 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz. The problem is the 2.4 will try to connect to the 5Ghz and will show as connected but not work. Likely it has flipped back and forth between the 2.4 and 5ghz channels and that is why you could connect sometimes. The best solution is to create a unique SSID for the 2.4Ghz channel on your router and only allow the printer to connect to that 2.4 Ghz SSID.

Hi

Thank you for your helpful reply. Interestingly, I managed to get ot going and did some printing.

I turned it off and went back to it later. Now the blue light is flashing above the power light ( which is also on). I am now getting notifications on my phone and computer that the printer is NOT connected to wifi. My Smart app recognises the printer but says its not connected. I've been trying to sort it for 3 hours!

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks.

Maggie

Hi

You have been so kind helping me this far. I had my printer det up ok ( after many hours. Its a laser jet MPF M140w model.

I turned it off after I'd finished printing. Now it simply won't reconnect to wifi! The Smart app recognises the printer but says it's not connected. On my computer when I go to my print tab it shows the printer and says 'not connected'.

The power light is on my computer and the blue light is flashing. Why am I not connected???
